As an elite athlete and as a student, how do you prepare for an Olympic season?

– With many competitions of course, we have been training all summer and autumn while I have combined it with studies so it has been mix. Of course, the Olympics is the big goal, so I am focused on that.

What does a study day look like for an elite athlete?

– Actually, you have to have a lot of discipline. I have two workouts per day so I have to find small gaps, either in the middle of the day or in the evening, for studying.  The important thing is that you actually sit down and get started, rather do a little every day than save everything until the last day, which is otherwise the risk.

What are you doing on a Saturday night off?

– When the training is done and I´m finished studying, I like to eat a good homemade dinner and watch a series on Netflix or play some video games.

Speaking of food, what do you prefer to eat?

– I enjoy cooking. I will usually make something with Asian inspiration, right now the favorite is pokébowl!

What does it mean to have a Sports university?

– It means a lot to the biathlon. You have to remember that the sport is not everything. There will be a career after skiing as well and for me personally it means a lot to have something on the side. I'm not only a biathlete, I like to develop and train my head as well.

Why did you choose the education you attend?

– I study sociology and political science, I am very interested in international relations but also psychology at the group level to understand why groups and people act as they do in society. We'll see if I'll work with that in the future.
