Niklas Kallin new Financial Director

On 25 April, we welcome Niklas Kallin as new Financial Director. He is most recently from the Swedish Defence Materials Administration where he works as Financial Director and before that as Head of controlling.
Welcome to Mid Sweden University! Can you tell me a little about your background?
— Thank you very much. It is gonna be great fun! I have a relatively long career in civil services. First 13 years at Svenska kraftnät, of which the last seven years as Head of financial control, and then three years at the Swedish Defence Materials Agency. I have acquired my education in Gothenburg, partly at Chalmers where I studied engineering physics and then I studied business administration at the University of Gothenburg, says Niklas Kallin.
How does it feel to start your work at Mid Sweden University?
— It is gonna be really fun, I am really excited! I think it is exciting with the academic world and I look forward to getting to know a new group and a new workplace, says Niklas.
Do you have any connection to campus Sundsvall or campus Östersund?
— I was born in Sundsvall and grew up in Njurunda, just south of town. Now that we moved back to Sundsvall, our new home became a farm, with some forest, arable land, hens and other things that belong to. So in addition to Financial Director, it also says "moonshine farmer" in my resume. It is my new passion in life. So I will have my office in Sundsvall, but I also look forward to regularly being in place in Östersund, says Niklas.
