The nominees that are considered most promising get funding of (at least) 1 million SEK per year for five years. The selection is made by a committee consisting of representatives from the Wallenberg Foundations, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry, the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities, and the Swedish Academy.

Mid Sweden University can nominate a maximum of four young researchers to this programme. If there are more than four people that wish to apply, we will need to have an internal ranking meeting. With that in mind, MIUN’s Grants Office have set a timetable for the nomination process:

  • 10 January: Deadline for informing the Grants Office that you wish to apply (via e-mail; to grantsoffice@miun.se).
  • 1 February: Deadline for submitting your application to the Grants Office.
  • Around 8 February: The Grants Office's internal ranking meeting + signing of support letters.
  • 15 February: Last day to apply with the Wallenberg Foundations. (The nominees themselves will upload applications + support letters in the application system, after approval by the Grants Office.)
