The funds for research communication is a three-year effort where money is distributed annually to finance time for researchers who want to spend more time communicating their research.

The Vice Chancellor has stated that the funds should primarily "be used to stimulate extraordinary, strategic or innovative efforts that require a lot of time in both implementation and planning."

Annual announcement

The funds can also be used to make short, quick support efforts based on "opportunities" that are identified during the year, but also distributed in an annual call. This is our annual call. The assignment to the Communications department also includes prioritizing applications with a connection to Barnens universitet.

During 2022 a total of nine researchers have been given extra time to communicate their research, varieing between 10–20% during two, three or four months.

Although this late announcement our experience from previous projects is that there may be possible to rescheduling. The announcements for 2024 and 2025 will be communicated earlier in order to minimize the risk of collisions in scheduling.
