Denial of service attacks on several higher education institutions’ websites
During the weekend, several higher education institutions’ websites have been subjected to a cyber-attack, a so-called denial of service attack. Mid Sweden University's website has been exposed but has not been unavailable for any longer periods of time.
One measure we have done to minimise the impact of the attacks is to block some specific IP addresses that caused a high load on miun.se.
— Attacks are ongoing all the time and we continue to monitor the activity that is taking place, says Helena Wallskog, Head of the Infrastructure Department.
