Support to scholars in Ukraine

The upcoming week Mid Sweden University will host a delegation of researchers and teachers from Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine.

The visit is part of the project Risk and crisis management education for a safer Ukraine, which is conducted in collaboration with the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.

One of the challenges for Ukrainian researchers and teachers in Kharkiv is that access to electricity and wifi varies and this affects their opportunities to work. They are therefore in need of extra mobile phones and tablets for themselves and their students. The phones can be used for network sharing and the tablets instead of computers when they e.g. need to find safety in shelters etc.

If you have a functioning phone or tablet (privately owned of course) that is littering in a box and can think of donating it to a researcher/teacher at the university in Kharkiv, you can contact Minna Lundgren minna.lundgren@miun.se for more info on how to proceed.

If you want to know more about how researchers and teachers manage their workdays under current conditions in Ukraine, the visitors from Kharkiv will hold a seminar on June 8 at the campus in Östersund.
