How the students were welcomed on campus
Wheel of fortune, popcorn, noodle packets and water bottles. New and old students were welcomed to campus Östersund by everyone from local employers and municipalities to the student union and sports clubs.
Just inside the large glass doors in the G building, Frida Munter, Sandra Ögren and Astrid Lyremo are gathered and look out over the exhibition hall and all the exhibitors. They have just started together on the administrative law programme. They are new on campus, new to each other, new to their education.
"It's a lot to take in, but it's also fun," says Astrid Lyremo.
For Frida Munter, who says that she has been reading out her grades for several years to get into the administrative law programme, it feels great to finally be there.
"This is my dream education, I'm interested in legal issues and want to know how everything is and how it works. I don't want to just sit in the stands anymore," she says.

Welcome fair with everything and more
In the light hall, the students are welcomed by representatives from Mid Sweden University, local and regional employers, municipalities and associations. They are offered everything from popcorn to noodle packets, reflectors and sweets. At Östersund Municipality, students can win hats or discount booklets by spinning a wheel of fortune, and at Friskis & Svettis they can win an annual pass to training.
Sverre Lindell and Enrique Berglund walk around among the exhibitors and look. They have both just started studying the technical foundation year.
"It feels great to have moved here, I hope to be able to ski a little this winter," says Sverre, who comes from Knivsta.
What he will do next, after the foundation year, he has not decided.
"I hope to have qualifications for something else, but I don't know what yet.
