Tutoring
Remote tutoring can be carried out in a number of ways. Sometimes synchronous communication is suitable, for example via phone or video calls. Sometimes asynchronous communication is better suited, for example via e-mail or discussions in discussion forums. Sometimes it is advisable to combine different types of communication.
- One question worth considering is what the purpose of the tutorial is? Is there a demonstration or instructional purpose? Is it to avoid students getting stuck? Is it to individualise teaching? Is it to facilitate learning, individually or in a group? Is it about creating a good study environment?
