Introduction
Are you interested to participate in a course along with PhD- and Masters-students from Canada (and Sweden) without the need to travel abroad?
Does questions about what is fair in work and health in relation to different socio-political systems trigger your curiosity to learn more and discuss prompting issues with other peers?

Course objective and description
The aim is to increase your knowledge about health equity within work and health from an international perspective. Throughout the course, we will reflect on and discuss what is fair in disability management (DM), occupational health and safety (OHS), and workplace health promotion (WHP).
The course is divided into modules. The modules cover (1) theories and concepts related to the course content and learning objectives, (2) disability management, (3) occupational health and safety, and (4) workplace health promotion.
Within each module, you as a student will be interactive with international students. Assignments will be given in each module thru the course where interaction and knowledge exchange of different work and health systems are prominent.
Education
The course language is English. There will be no synchronous seminars in the course due to time-differences between countries.
This is an online course on part-time (50 %) for 10 weeks. We will use an online learning platform which is hosted by University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. You as a student will have access to video-lectures, discussion forums and lecture notes.
Examination
Written group- and individual assignments/examination throughout the course.
Admission Requirements for PhD-students
Admission to the course requires that the student is admitted to postgraduate education and can count the course in his/her postgraduate studies. It is also required that the student has basic knowledge within one or more of the subjects related to working life-, rehabilitation- and health sciences.
Doctoral students admitted to postgraduate studies in health sciences and other postgraduate programs at Mid Sweden University are given priority to the vacancies. Other interested, with the right to participate in courses at postgraduate level, are given the opportunity to participate in the course, depending on vacancy.
