Claro Noda intervju

What is your background?

I graduated in Physics with a Master Degree in Superconductivity at University of Havana, Cuba and later conducted my Ph.D in Telecommunication Engineering at University of Minho, Portugal.

What is your area of interest?

I have wide interests in Computer Engineering, Cyber physical systems, Wireless Networks and their intersections.

What is it that you are going to investigate as a postdoc?

My current research focuses on reliability, security and dependability of next generation wireless networks. Specifically for industrial wireless networks, cyber physical systems and the Internet of things. I have work on next generation low-power wireless networks. Mostly on interference mitigation, reliability and dependability. I now plan also to explore new perspectives on security. As we continue to deploy wireless networks everywhere, security is a critical aspect. Somehow most of the present research focus is on encryption to protect privacy, but there is much more than that. Especially for industrial and large-scale wireless networks.

Why did you choose Sweden and Mid Sweden University?

I was looking for an opportunity to move to Sweden. Mid Sweden University feels like a nice place to start. Sweden has a long-standing tradition of innovation. This cultural aspect is very enticing to me. Also, the academic and industrial expertise level within the field of Telecommunication Engineering is among the highest in the world. I am enthusiastic about most things Swedish at this point.
