Erasmus+ traineeship
Would you like to gain work experience that is relevant to your education? How about collecting data for your thesis abroad? If this sounds interesting, an Erasmus+ traineeship might be for you!
What is Erasmus+ traineeship?
Erasmus+ traineeships (work placements, internships, thesis work) is for students currently enrolled in higher education institutions in Programme countries at Bachelor and Master level as well as for doctoral candidates. Erasmus+ offers scholarships of 660-710 EUR per month for internships or placements at a company or organisation in another European country. The placement needs to be at least 2 months (maximum 12 months) and you must apply for the scholarship before staring your placement.
Different ways to take part in an Erasmus+ traineeship:
1. Within the framework of an internship course/thesis at Mid Sweden University
You are registered at Mid Sweden University and will be examined here but you conduct the internship/data collection at a university, organisation or company in Europe.
2. As a voluntary internship outside your regular study programme at Mid Sweden University
This alternative is a non-credit internship and the department needs to approve the internship and confirm its academic connection. You will not get credit for this type of internship but you can ask the Degree Office at Miun to include it in your Diploma Supplement.
3. Recent Graduate: You can also go for a traineeship abroad as a recent graduate
In this case, your traineeship must occur within one year of your graduation and you must apply while still being enrolled as a fulltime student at Mid Sweden University. You must complete the intership period within a 12 month period when you completed your studies. Example: Student graduates on 7 June 2024 (date on diploma) -> applies for an Erasmus traineeship grant before this date -> completes and finalises the internship period before 7 June 2025.
