The student will gain an insight into the conditions under which an industrial designer works. The student must also participate in the work and follow workplace procedures.

Course objectives

The student is expected to:
- be able to describe how an industrial designer works in terms of methodology, workload, type of duties and conduct.


Module 1.1– Introduction to practical training in the design profession.

Practical training at a design department in the industry, with a consulting firm or an organization.

Entry requirements

At least 60 Credits (ECTS) in Industrial Design or equivalent.

Selection rules and procedures

The selectionprocess is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.

Teaching form

The student is assigned a supervisor at the company and follows his/her instructions.

Examination form

Active participation and presentation of duties and a practical training certificate from the workplace.
