A warm welcome to the course Sport Science BA (B), Nutrition with a focus on sport, 7.5 credits and as a student at Mid Sweden University.

The course begins on Monday 26th February 2018 at 09.30 and runs for 5 weeks, full-time. Due to the Easter weekend, the exam will take place on Thursday 29th March 2018.

Four weeks before the beginning of the course you will get access to your schedule https://se.timeedit.net/web/miun/db1/student/. Please note that the timetable may be updated until the beginning of the course and even after that if something unforeseen happens.

Before you can begin your studies, there are three things you need to do


1. Get a login for the student portal (Swedish: Studentportalen)

If you are an international student you will receive your User ID upon arrival at Mid Sweden University.
This is your most important tool during your studies at Mid Sweden University. Here, you will find information about courses, study material etc. This is also where you register for each course. All of this can be found at www.miun.se/admitted.

Please note:
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University before, you will keep the same student login and user id.

2. Read through the current course syllabus

In the course syllabus, there is information about the course literature and other important things about the course for both teachers and students.

3. Register for the course

You must register for all of the courses you want to take during the semester. You do this in the Student Portal by clicking on the link “My Studies”, and then “Register on course”. You can register no earlier than two working days before the beginning of the course. It is important that you register for each course.

Course information
Teaching is delivered using a range of lectures, seminars and practical sessions. Attendance at lectures is not compulsory. Seminars and practicals may be compulsory if they are a necessary step for you to complete one of the obligatory modules.

The course consists of three modules, which are compulsory to gain the full 7.5 credits for the course.

Module 1 is a practical module that is completed in small groups and is worth 1.5 credits. The grades are Godkänt (Approved) or Underkänt (Not Satisfactory)

Moment 2 is an individual written assignment and is worth 2 credits. It is awarded a grade on the 7 point scale, A-F.

Moment 3 is a written exam and is worth 4 credits. Grades are awarded based on a 7-point scale, A-F.

All sessions that are mandatory in order for you to be able to complete these task and are marked with (OBL) on the online schedule.

The Library
In order to borrow at Mid Sweden University you need a library account. You get a library account when you activate your student portal login, register to a course and approve of the library lending rules. It takes about an hour after your activation before the library account is made. Use your student portal login to borrow and reserve books and to access the services of the library from home.
