The evolution of the Lean business model over time places it as one of the most influential new paradigms in manufacturing. At the same time, we are keenly aware from research that many Lean transformation attempts fail to achieve the desired outcome due to a lack of understanding about the core philosophy underpinning quality management systems. Needed is a better understanding about what it means to develop a culture of innovation and quality that business leaders can use and adapt to their own company context.
SIMPLY LEAN was a business-university collaboration designed to explore more deeply how leaders can develop a value-based practice to support the development of quality improvement work cultures that are economically and socially sustainable.
