Avdelningens forskning utförs inom ramen för forskningscentret STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).

The Department of Electronics Design (EKS) and research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc) are looking for a postdoc for the project DUVA – Detector and method development in UV and EUV wavelength region, for application in processing industries. There are approximately 80 researchers in STC, working on research on sensor-based systems and services in electronics and computer science.

Research in this project will give you an opportunity to work together with industrial partners in the field of optical measuring methods in the ultraviolet (UV) (EUV, 13.5 nm) wavelength range, to define the geometric characteristics of fibrillated cellulose fibres. The optical processes included in the measuring method are transmission, absorption, diffraction and scattering, depending on the characteristics of the test object. Position sensitive detectors for measurements in the EUV range are to be developed and characterized.

Your job will be to work on development, optimization, and characterization of an optical measuring method, to be used to measure fibrillated cellulose fibres.

Requirements and assessment: PhD in electronics, electrical engineering or computer science, with a specialization in optical measuring methods and/or photodetector-based measurement systems. Include doctoral thesis or a link to the thesis and a short description of your goals and visions. Fluent communication orally/in writing in English is a requirement. Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage.
