Engelska för lärare åk 4-6. Ingår i Lärarlyftet.

The course begins on the 1st of September, 2025 and will be made available in the teaching platform, Canvas then. Please note that English should be used for all communication in Canvas and for all assignments. An IT communication tool called VoiceThread will be used during the course (and other digital tools). Therefore, it would be preferable if students have a headset and microphone.

Four weeks before the start of the course, when you have created you MiunID (student account), you will see your schedule.
Please note that the schedule is updated until the start of the course and there may be changes thereafter if something unforeseen occurs.

Education information

The course consists of 4 modules. 2 modules during the Autumn term and 2 modules during the Spring term. Autumn term 2025 - modules: Module 1: English Grammar and Language Teaching, 7.5 credits (Engelsk grammatik och språkundervisning 7.5 hp) Module 2: Literature, Culture and Text, 7.5 credits (Litteratur, kultur och text, 7.5 hp) Spring term 2026 - modules: Module 3: Subject Didactics, Grading and Assessment, 7.5 credits (Ämnesdidaktik, betygsättning och bedömning, 7.5 hp) Module 4: Project, 7.5 credits (Projekt, 7,5 hp)

Kursen är helt på distans. Det innebär att det inte är några schemalagda sammankomster, vare sig fysiskt eller på distans, utan all kommunikation sker via lärplattformen Canvas. Då övningar och uppgifter kräver samarbete mellan deltagare bestämmer deltagarna själva hur och när kommunikationen ska skötas. Kursens lärare lägger information, material, instruktioner, presentationer och annat i lärplattformen så varje deltagare kan del av innehållet vid tidpunkter som passar. Alla inlämningsuppgift har dock ett sista inlämningsdatum vilket anges i lärplattformen.

Validering
Antagna till kurser inom Lärarlyftet ges möjlighet att ansöka om validering, vilket kan leda till tillgodoräkning av högskolepoäng. Med validering avses kartläggning och bedömning av kurseltagarens befintliga kunskaper och kompetens i förhållande till lärandemålen i den kurs man antagits till. Valideringsansökningar görs i det digitala ansöknings- och administrationssystemet Valda.

System requirements for various software

Many of the digital tools of the education do not work on ChromeBooks. For example, you cannot use Microsoft 365 programs with full functionality on a Chromebook, for this you need a computer with Windows or MacOSX. This also applies to graphic-intensive programs in design and technology, for example. This also applies if you are going to write a digital exam. To avoid problems, we recommend that you use a Windows or Mac computer instead.

There are several things you need to do as a new student in order to start your studies. If you are a distance student with campus lectures, you need to familiarize yourself with both checklists.
