Course objectives
After completion of the course, the student shall:
- Be acquainted with a main theoretical or experimental method, central for the scientific project
- Be able to analyze, evaluate and communicate the results from theoretical and experimental aspects
- Have knowledge of other ongoing research projects in biology
Content
Initiation of the independent scientific project, which may include theoretical, field based or experimental methods for data collection. Preliminary analyses of derived data and planning of the future steps of the scientific project. The student will also be offered to participate in other research projects in biology. The Student is required to put the current work in a societal context to be able to assess the impact.
Entry requirements
Biology MA, Theory and Experimental Design, 15 credits.
Selection rules and procedures
The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
A supervised theoretical, experimental or field based research project based on an, together with supervisor, established workplan. The student keeps a detailed diary of activities that constitute reporting of project development.
