At Mid Sweden University, the next Academic Ceremony will take place on 10 October, 2025 in Östersund. On this occasion, there is a conferment ceremony for new doctors and honorary doctors, an installation ceremony for new professors and a ceremony for the conferment of awards and prizes.
Inauguration lectures with honorary doctors and professors
The day before the Academic Ceremony there are inauguration lectures, when new honorary doctors and professors share their knowledge and experience with the audience. The lectures are open for the general public and they are also broadcast on the web.
Conferment and installation ceremony and banquet
The Academic Ceremony includes three parts:
- a degree conferment ceremony for new and honorary doctors
- an installation ceremony for new professors
- conferment of awards and prizes for scientific and educational works.
The ceremony begins at 4 p.m. and is open for all. After the ceremony there is a banquet.
New Doctors and Professors
If you have completed your doctoral degree or been appointed professor between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, you are invited to the conferment and installation ceremony at our academic celebration. If you have not received an invitation to the 2025 conferment or installation, please contact akademiskhogtid@miun.se.
New Associate Professors and Distinguished/Excellent Teachers
If you have attained the title of associate professor or have been recognized as a distinguished/excellent teacher between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, you are invited to participate and be acknowledged at the October celebration. If you have not received an invitation to participate, please contact akademiskhogtid@miun.se.
