Maria Humla Appointed Chair of CER’s Reference Group
Maria Humla, Director General of the Swedish National Board for Occupational Pensions (SPV), will assume the role of Chair of CER's reference group, succeeding outgoing chairman Mikael Bergström, CEO of LF Västernorrland.
SPV – the Swedish National Board for Occupational Pensions – has been a valued partner to CER for many years. Maria Humla, Director General of SPV, now takes over as Chair of CER’s reference group, succeeding Mikael Bergström, CEO of LF Västernorrland. Maria has been an active member of the reference group since autumn 2018 and has consistently served as a strong ambassador for both CER and its extended network.
With deep ties to Mid Sweden University, Maria studied economics at what was then Mid Sweden University College and was named Alumnus of the Year in 2020. She received the award not only for being an inspiring role model to business students, but also for demonstrating that hard work and determination can lead to a top leadership position in a government agency. In addition, she is deeply committed to the Sundsvall region and has long worked to support its development in various capacities.
"It felt both rewarding and an honor to be asked to take on the role of Chair, and for me it was an obvious yes," says Maria Humla. "At CER, we have built a unique collaboration between academia, the public sector, and the business community within our industries. Successful collaboration relies on mutual contribution—if you want to benefit from others’ skills and experiences, you must be willing to share your own. I hope to contribute with my expertise to sustain and further develop this cooperation."
