This time, too, Jörgen Kennemar, business economist at Swedbank, and Petter Järte from the Swedish Purchasing and Logistics Association (SILF) were present to talk about a monthly economic survey for the Swedish economy: Sweden's Purchasing Managers Index (PMI). Those who were present (about 50 teachers, students and partners) were given a brief review of how the index is designed and then current PMI data and economic trends that can influence purchasing managers' decision-making, mainly in the manufacturing and service sectors. The message to the audience was a strengthening of the economy in parallel with increased cost pressures and a continued weak recovery in the labour market.
