CER blog on successful international cooperation
Since its inception in 2021, the collaboration with Associate Professor Tarek Rana at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, has developed into one of CER's most successful international exchange. He writes about this and the importance of international contacts in the CER blog.
The 57th CER blog is the first to be written in English. It is also the first of our blogs to highlight the power of international collaborations that are allowed to emerge from below and develop based on both parties' interests and motivations.
In less than five years, the collaboration with Tarek Rana and colleagues at RMIT University has resulted in 16 joint publications (six scientific articles, editorship of three anthologies and seven book chapters). Several of these publications have also involved researchers from other universities. In addition, work is underway on upcoming articles and book chapters. CER researchers have also written book chapters in one of Tarek Rana's upcoming anthologies. Despite the troublesome time differences, we have arranged joint workshops and participated via link at each other's seminars.
In addition to this, Tarek Rana has visited CER and Sundsvall on two occasions, in 2023 and 2025, and then, among other things, assisted and encouraged our doctoral students. For that – and the cooperation in general – we are more than grateful.
