Continued government assignment in the field of auditing
For nine years, CER's centre director Peter Öhman has worked as a substitute in the Supervisory Board for Auditors, a position that has now been extended until 30 June 2029.
Last week's government decision by Minister for Financial Markets Niklas Wykman was the fourth in a row since July 2017 from a minister on Peter Öhman's appointment to the Supervisory Board for Auditors. The Supervisory Board is a special decision-making body within the Inspectorate of Public Accountants with the task of deciding on disciplinary measures against individual auditors and audit firms, issuing advance rulings and otherwise deciding matters of a fundamental nature. Professional auditors and experts with proven experience in audit-related activities.
"The continued assignment is gratifying on a personal level, but above all a consequence of the business that CER has built up in the accounting and auditing area," comments Peter Öhman.
In addition to ongoing publications, two ongoing doctoral projects are attracting interest. Both Ammarah Tariq (who focuses on sustainability reporting) and Dennis Hedback (who studies auditors' survival warnings in a digital context) have had their papers published in international journals. Also noted are the five anthologies that Peter Öhman has edited in a short period of time, partly together with Swedish researchers (Jan Marton, University of Gothenburg, Fredrik Nilson, Uppsala University, Katharina Rahnert, Karlstad University and CER colleague Jan Svanberg), partly together with international researchers (Alan Lowe and Tarek Rana from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia and Md Jahidur Rahman from Wenzhou-Kean University in China).
