Martin Wallstam

Martin is a former student of the Mid Sweden University Tourism programme from which he graduated with a Master’s degree in Human Geography.

He also holds an academic background in hospitality management and sustainable development and sits on considerable industry experience through a couple of earlier jobs in hotels. Since graduating he has taught courses in Tourism Studies and Human Geography.

Growing up in an international setting (moving between Sweden, Ethiopia, France and Switzerland) has spurred his interest in tourism and given him perspective as to how this sector operates in different cultural contexts.

He was given a Swedish Development Agency grant to conduct his Master’s thesis in the Philippines and is as passionate about broader development issues as he is event management.
