In 2011 Mid Sweden University was granted  to become a so-called "KK-miljö" by Knowledge Foundation. Our two research centres STC and FSCN are part of the "KK-miljö", called Transformative Technologies. It is a long-term initiative that aims to create a more profiled research in co-production with the industry. Mid Sweden University operates in a region of great forest industries that demand innovation and efficiency for increased profitability and growth. By combining Mid Sweden University´s two research fields in fibres and ICT we create new opportunities for the region's industries to improve and renew working methods and products.
