FSCN researchers highlighted in global ranking
Two researchers at the FSCN Research Centre, Professor Magnus Norgren and Professor Armando Córdova, are included in the latest list of the world's two percent most influential scientists, Stanford/Elsevier's Top 2% Scientist Rankings: World's Top 2% Scientists Network for the year 2025.
The list is based on citations and scientific impact in each research field, and is used internationally as an indicator of research quality and impact.
Professor Magnus Norgren leads research in technical surface and colloid chemistry, with a particular focus on how lignocellulose and bio-based materials can replace plastics and oil-based products in industry. Professor Armando Córdova conducts research in green chemistry and bio-based catalysis, with a focus on developing new chemical processes and materials that reduce the use of fossil raw materials.
Research at a high international level
"I am very happy and proud that our researchers are being recognized internationally for their scientific quality and importance. This shows that our research is of a high international standard," says Birgitta Engberg, centre director of the FSCN Research Centre at Mid Sweden University.
She also points out that their work has a strong connection to both regional and global sustainability development.
"Both of their research contributes directly to the development of new sustainable materials and processes, and this is an area where Mid Sweden University and our research centre have a role in driving the industry's transition forward," she says.
