Teklay Gebremichael, PhD‑student
Teklay Gebremichael is a PhD-student within the research group Communication Systems and Networks. He will focus his research on the security of IoT and be a part of the research project SMART.
What is your background?
I got my Bachelor degree from Mekelle Institute of Technology, Ethiopia, in Information Technology. I then studied my Master's Degree at the University of Trento, Italy, in computer science with a specialization in Internet Technologies and security. After graduation, I worked at the same university for about two years in the department of security and privacy, during which I focused on mobile applications security
What is it that you are going to investigate in your PhD?
I will work on the security of Internet of Things (IoT), and specially IoT towards smart cities.
Why did you choose Sweden and Mid Sweden University?
My choice of Sweden and Mid Sweden University in particular was motivated by the fact that Sweden is one of the leading countries in the IT revolution. Also, the research areas in the field of security conducted under Prof. Gidlund attracted me as they fit to the kind of career I aspire to carve out in the field of security.
