The endless possibilities of the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and Distributed Systems
In the future many of the things we have in our environment will have more sensors and electronics built into them, and they will all be connected to the Internet. With the information from all these connected things, even more intelligent services can be created, which can seamlessly help us in our everyday life in many different ways. However, one big problem is that all of these will produce such large amounts of data that today's solutions for transmitting and storing information on the Internet will no longer be sufficient. To this end, we will in this lecture explore the technological possibilities and the future outlook by combining the research areas of IoT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and distributed systems. Which is sometimes denoted as the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) and the Cloud-Fog-Edge Continuum.
