Irida Shallari

What is your background?

I have a Bachelor degree in IT Economics from University of Tirana and Master degree from University of Southampton and NTNU in 2016 in which I was participating in EMECS (European Masters in Embedded Computing Systems) at.

What is your area of interest?

In my previous studies, I had the opportunity to come across a wide range of interested areas in hardware and software designs. My focus lies on embedded systems design and implementation on hardware (FPGA) level.

What is it that you are going to investigate in your Ph.D?

The aim of this project is to explore run-time reconfigurable node designs for in-node processing within Vision Sensor Networks. Computational architectures for low cost and low energy implementation of complex sensor nodes will be studied in different environments. Energy efficiency and performance will be achieved through run-time reconfiguration and hardware/software partitioning within the node.

Why did you choose Mid Sweden University?

I came across Mid Sweden University’s name from research papers that I was reading during my master studies. The work at Visual Sensor System was quite relevant to my interests which compelled me to look for position in this group. The nice work environment and team spirit that I found after joining makes me very satisfied with my choice.
