Safe and sustainable technology in focus when STC visited the Good Tech Conference
When the Good Tech Conference 2025 took place in Sundsvall, STC was present with several researchers. Under the theme of safety, STC showed how research and practical solutions can strengthen both security and sustainability in society.
On October 16, about 400 participants gathered at the Clarion Hotel in Sundsvall for this year's Good Tech Conference - Norrland's largest meeting place for technology, innovation and community development. This year's theme was safety, with a focus on how technology can contribute to a safer and more sustainable society.
Researchers from STC participated both as speakers and exhibitors, showcasing research in areas such as cybersecurity, AI, energy and sustainable technology.
At STC's booth in the conference's expo area, visitors had the opportunity to experience current research in AI and sensor technology. Here, researchers, companies and the public sector met to discuss collaboration opportunities and future technical solutions.
"It's inspiring to see how technology, safety and sustainability are linked together in real cases. Good Tech is a good arena for showing how our research is useful in industry and society," says Rikard Hamrin, research engineer at STC Research Centre.
Every year, the Good Tech Conference brings together actors from all over the region and strengthens Västernorrland's profile as a leading tech region. For the STC Research Centre, the conference is an important meeting place where research reaches out and contributes to concrete societal benefits.
"We see great value in meeting companies and public actors at home. It is in the conversation between research and practice that new ideas and collaborations arise," says Mattias O'Nils, Centre Director of the STC Research Centre.
