Researcher Dagmar's tips: How the construction industry can protect natural values
When SOURCE conducted its course in nature conservation in the construction process in September, SVT drew attention to the initiative with a feature.
How can construction projects be planned so that nature is protected right from the start? Researcher Dagmar Hagen, senior research director at NINA (Norwegian Institute for Nature Research), talks to SVT about the Norwegian concept Green Course – a method that provides practical tools for integrating nature considerations throughout the construction process, from procurement to finished construction.
Last week, researchers, entrepreneurs and representatives from the public sector gathered in Storlien, where the course was carried out as part of the Interreg project SOURCE. The goal is to show how planning and collaboration early in the process can contribute to more sustainable construction and development projects.
"With the right knowledge at the right stage, we can find solutions that benefit both the entrepreneur and nature," says Dagmar Hagen.
