TRUST presented at Good Tech Confernece
On October 16, Good Tech Conference was arrangeged in Sundsvall. Prof. Mikael Gidlund and researcher Kyi Thar was invited to talked about cybersecurity in Industrial IoT together with Peter Larsson from Orange Cyberdefense.
Peter shared statistics and concrete examples of data breaches, emphasizing that most current attacks target IT systems, but as IT security improves, vulnerable OT systems are likely next in line.
Kyi Thar presented the 10 biggest risks for LLM applications and explained how trustworthy AI can make a difference for security in relation to the EU’s AI Act. He also introduced the new research project TRUST, which focuses on developing robust and secure wireless communication solutions for industry.

This year Good Tech Conference gathered approximately 370 participants from across the tech, innovation and industry sectors. It tackled major contemporary themes, placing security as a central thread through the programme, addressing how AI, geopolitics and digital manipulation reshape risk landscapes.
Keynote speakers included Hanna Linderstål, who delivered a talk titled “AI, impact and threat – security in a new reality”, and Joakim Jardenberg, whose keynote “Adopt a Hacker’s Mindset” explored how a hacker-inspired approach of curiosity and system comprehension can help navigate an AI-driven world.
The TRUST-project is funded with support from Interreg Aurora and is carried out in collaboration with the University of Vaasa.
