Flexibility and competence – how Permascand uses MILAB
Permascand uses Mid Sweden University's research environment MILAB for advanced analyses and testing of materials. Access to the laboratory's instruments and expertise strengthens the company's research and development and creates opportunities to develop new products.
Permascand is a company that works with advanced materials and surface treatment, such as electrodes and cells for the electrochemical industry. For Susanne Holmin, specialist in electrode materials, and Malin Eliasson, development engineer, who works with research and development at the company, access to MILAB is a valuable resource in their daily work.
"We have previously used MILAB's X-ray diffractometer, but now we have invested in our own. At the same time, it is very good to be able to use other instruments here that we do not have access to ourselves," says Susanne Holmin.
A help to identify equipment
Through MILAB, Permascand can also identify which equipment it may be worth investing in in the future.
"Since we need instruments that we don't use very often, it's practical to be able to come here and test," says Susanne Holmin.
Malin Eliasson highlights the importance of competence in the environment.
"It is also very valuable that researchers at Mid Sweden University can provide help and guidance in how the various instruments are used.
Both emphasize that the collaboration around MILAB works smoothly and supportively.
"It's user-friendly and you get good support if you have questions. It also serves as a good sounding board for specific issues, where we can get input on how we can move forward," says Malin Eliasson.
