Getting to Sundsvall
The main international gateway to Sweden is Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN).
From Arlanda Airport, participants can travel directly to Sundsvall by train. The train station, Arlanda Central Station, is located inside the airport terminal area, close to the McDonald's restaurant.

We strongly recommend purchasing train tickets well in advance, as prices tend to increase significantly closer to the travel date.
For your return journey, we recommend choosing a train that arrives at Arlanda Airport well before your flight departure time. Delays and occasional cancellations are not uncommon on long-distance routes.
Staying near Arlanda Airport
Depending on your flight schedule, it may be convenient to spend a night near Arlanda Airport before or after your journey to Sundsvall. There are several hotels located inside the airport area or nearby, many of which offer free shuttle services to and from the terminals.
This can be a particularly convenient option for participants arriving late in the evening or departing early in the morning.
Visiting Stockholm
Participants who wish to spend time in Stockholm before or after the School can take the Arlanda Express, which connects Arlanda Airport to Stockholm Central Station in approximately 20 minutes.
The Arlanda Express is the fastest option, but also the most expensive. Several buses and regional trains are available at lower prices, although the journey typically takes around one hour.

The hotel is located in the city centre, close to restaurants, cafés, shops, and only a 7-minute walk from Sundsvall Central Station.
The hotel offers different booking options. In particular, participants may choose a package that includes both breakfast and dinner, often at a very reasonable additional cost. This can be a convenient option during the School.
Getting to the University

The university is approximately 1.8 km from the hotel.
The walk takes around 24 minutes and is mostly flat and pleasant.
Local buses also connect the city centre and the university campus.
Since Sundsvall is a compact city, most destinations can be reached comfortably on foot.
Weather
Late August is generally mild in Sundsvall.
Typical daytime temperatures range from 15°C to 22°C, while evenings may be considerably cooler.
We recommend bringing:
- a light jacket or sweater
- comfortable walking shoes
- an umbrella or waterproof jacket
Currency and Payments
Sweden is largely a cashless society.
Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, including public transportation, restaurants and cafés, hotels, and shops.
Participants are therefore advised not to rely on cash during their stay.
Visa Information
Participants who require a visa to enter Sweden are encouraged to contact the organizing committee as early as possible if they need an invitation letter for their visa application.
