The University Library has had an eventful year. Here is a selection of our business in 2023, in numbers.

Student med böcker

The University Library's visitors, who largely consist of students and employees but also the general public, have made 169,700 physical visits to us. This is an increase of just over 15,000 compared to the previous year.

We're here for you almost all the time

In 2023, the physical library was open 267 days or 2242 hours. If we exclude public holidays and Sundays, it means that the library has been open 89% of all days. That's what we call accessible!

In 2023, we broke the record in talking book meetings, a total of 238 meetings were conducted, which is estimated to be around 159 hours in total.

In addition, we handled more than 9,000 cases via chat and email.

Loans and downloads

In total, our books were lent 167,642 times (including renewals). The most popular book was the course book Social Science Methods by Alan Bryman.

262,236 articles have been downloaded from our e-journals. The most downloaded journal is the Journal of clinical nursing from Wiley.

Publishing support and library teaching

The publishing support at the University Library has helped to publish 1352 research publications in DiVA.

Our librarians and writing tutors have taught students information retrieval and academic writing for about 383 hours.

In addition, our librarians have helped students and researchers with individual guidance in information retrieval for 387 hours via the Book Librarian service.

Did you know that you'll find no less than 608 study places at our two campus libraries!

Welcome to the University Library!
