Distance education students
As a distance education student you can get books sent to your home address.
If you are enrolled in a distance course with us at Mid Sweden University and have created your MiunID, you can apply to have your books sent to your home address by post. Apply by filling out our form below. Once you receive confirmation that your application has been approved, you can start reserving books.
You reserve the material you want to borrow in the library search tool Miun Discovery, then we send it home to you by post. It is important that we have the correct contact details for you, so remember to update them if you change your address.
Shipping
The Library covers the cost of shipping and packaging to you, but you must bear the cost of returning the books to us yourself. You are personally responsible for your loans until they are returned in our library system. Always save the receipt for the books you send and preferably send them with tracking. Be sure to pay the correct postage fee and pack the books well. Don't forget to write your return address. If a letter/package you send goes missing, it is your responsibility to contact the postal operator you used to get help.
We only send study-related material. We do not send material outside of Sweden, nor within our two campus towns or the towns nearby.
You get seven extra days of loan time. This is a compensation for the time it takes to send the book via mail. These days are included in your loan period, so the return date for the book is the date we expect the book to be back at the library. You must therefore send it to us a few days before the return date. Here you can find our addresses.
Lending period
It is when you first borrow the book that you get the extra seven days, after that the loan is automatically renewed by ten days at the time unless another patron has requested the book. This happens four days before the due date. If another patron has requested the book you will get an e-mail telling you to return the book. You can always check your loans and due dates in My account.
If you need access to books during your internship or if you are writing your thesis in another town, we can temporarily send books to you. If so, contact the library.
