E‑books ‑ how it works
Here you will find information about the library’s e-books; how to search for, access and use them – both on and off campus.
EBSCO and E-book Central are moving away from Adobe Digital Editions. From 14/4 you need Thorium to read e-books from EBSCO and E-book Central's own app from 27/4 for their e-books.
As a student or employee at Mid Sweden University, you can access our e-books anywhere in the world, as long as you have a computer, smartphone or tablet and internet connection.
We buy our e-books from several different providers, and it is the providers who set the rules for how their books may be used. When you search for an e-book in Miun Discovery, you will see general information about rules and copyright for e-books from the provider, more detailed information about what can be downloaded, printed and copied from the current book will be available on the specific title and platform.
Accessing and reading e-books
You search e-books just like regular books in Miun Discovery.
To read e-books from some platforms, you may need an Adobe ID. You may also need to download and install Adobe Digital Editions (for your computer).
To download a book you need to create your own account with that vendor. Your Miun-ID is not applicable.
