Bibliometrics involves the quantitative analysis of scientific publications. Bibliometric methods can be used to analyse, for example, collaboration patterns, citation impact and research productivity.
What can bibliometrics be used for?
Bibliometric analyses can provide useful information for:
- evaluating research productivity and impact
- allocation of research funding
- environmental scanning and analysis of research trends
- strategic publishing
- benchmarking with other research groups.
The University Library offers various bibliometric services on request to employees at Mid Sweden University.
