Being able to read and write references is a must in academic writing. In the Library Research Guides, you will find information on why you should reference and how to write correct references. There are also links to various reference guides, such as APA, Harvard, Oxford, and Vancouver.

Book a tutorial session in basic reference management

Here you can book a tutorial session to get help with basic reference management, such as learning how to write references, interpret reference guides, etc. If you need help with a reference management programme, such as Zotero or EndNote, choose one of the options further down the page.

• Choose whether you want to meet on campus or online via the provided links.
• The links will take you to our booking system where you can schedule an appointment directly.
• A tutorial session is 45 minutes. 
• The available time slots in the booking calendar are visible for the next two weeks.
• Individuals or writing groups are allowed a maximum of one scheduled tutorial session per week.
• Once you’ve booked a time, you’ll receive a confirmation email to your address. If the confirmation email doesn’t appear in your inbox, please check your spam folder.

With a reference management programme, such as Zotero or EndNote you can:

• Import and export references from databases
• Create your own database (library) with your references
• Save PDFs
• Create citations in a word document
• Automatically create a bibliography in a word document
• Customise the design of the reference to various styles of citing or specific journal requirements
• Create publication lists
