Time for Academic Ceremony!
After a couple of years of cancellation due to the pandemic, it is now again time for Academic Ceremony. The celebration takes place on and around campus Östersund for three days.
During this year’s ceremony, eight honorary doctors are awarded — Tomas Ledin, Ellen MacEachen, Cheryl Akner Koler, Lars-Åke Lindström, Karin Nygårds, Ola Harrysson, Berit Lundman and Ortwin Renn. In addition to this, there are also 14 new professors. Both honorary doctors and professors will hold their inauguration lectures on Wednesday and Thursday on campus Östersund.
Friday 10 June it is time for the ceremony itself, which takes place at Storsjöteatern with a banquet at the Old Theatre.
“After just over two years of pandemic, which has made it impossible to celebrate an academic celebration, it is gratifying to be able to once again welcome local, regional, national and international honorary doctors and others to our festivities,” says Anders Fällström, Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University.
