Sociology MA, Micro Sociological Theory: Perspectives on Risk, Resilience and Working Life, 7.5 Credits
This course focuses on risk, resilience, and working life from an individual and everyday life perspective, using established micro-sociological theories and recent theories on agency, resistance, and positionality. The course explores subjectivity, precarity, capacity, trust, and other social dimensions of everyday life. The course covers the life course, including work-life balance and specific risk situations in selected contexts.
The structure of the teaching
The campus course includes several meetings where you are expected to participate on site, and some components require mandatory attendance.
The distance course requires that you have access to a computer with an internet connection. All communication takes place via the course’s online platform and meeting tools such as Zoom.
Entry requirements
A bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in social or behavioural sciences, of which a minimum of 60 credits in sociology. English level 2/English 6 from Swedish Upper Secondary School (Gymnasium) or the equivalent.
