About the programme

As a student, you will be part of a research environment where you work in close collaboration with researchers and doctoral students at Mid Sweden University. By participating in ongoing research projects, where you work both independently and together with others, you will be trained in formulating, investigating and communicating scientific problems. The programme combines advanced courses with project-based learning and concludes with an independent master's thesis.

After completing your studies, you will have the ability to critically evaluate and apply different methods and techniques, as well as understand their possibilities and limitations in relation to industrial organization and management.

SPECIALIZATIONS:

Decision support and analytics

This specialization focuses on how computer-based problem modeling and computational or simulation models can be used for decisions in different types of organizations.

The areas of application are broad and include, for example, logistics, production, healthcare, climate and technology introductions. You participate in one or more research projects where you immerse yourself in the field and learn the basics of conducting and communicating research.

Value Realization and Digitalization Investments

This is a growing area where we critically study the interplay between technological development, digitalization and societal change. Particular focus is on how digital initiatives are organized, implemented and valued in both the private and public sectors.

The specialization provides a deeper understanding of the relationship between the private and public sectors, technology development as a policy area and professional and knowledge development, and provides you with analytical tools to critically examine the role of technology in societal development.
