Aim

The course aims to provide the student with knowledge about processes and methods that provide increased creative ability.

Course objectives

The student shall be able to
- describe and problematize the meaning of creativity
- describe different creative processes
- explain and analyze how individual, societal, structural, and cultural conditions affect creativity and problem solving.
- apply design thinking that relates to different psychological aspects in individual design work
- apply relevant creative methods in a design process

Content

- background and orientation around creative processes
- psychological aspects in design and design thinking
- prerequisites of creativity and problem solving
- how scientific methods are used to solve problems
- individual, societal, structural, and cultural prerequisites for creativity and problem solving
- practical development of individual creative ability

Entry requirements

At least 60 credits (ECTS) in Industrial Design or equivalent.
