Aim
The course aims to provide enhanced skills in coaching, leadership, and sports organization, with a focus on practical and theoretical applications of coaching for sports development.
Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:
- Explain and describe sports coaching theory and methodology.
- Apply practical coaching skills to promote and develop athletes appropriately for performance enhancement at both individual and group levels.
- Independently integrate and apply knowledge and skills in sports coaching with a focus on coaching and leadership in sports.
- Analyze complex phenomena and issues within sports coaching related to performance development, with a focus on coaching and leadership in sports.

Entry requirements
A Bachelor degree with at least 180 credits, including a degree project of at least 15 credits, in Sports Science, Sports Medicine or Physiotherapy.
OR
A Bachelor degree consisting of at least 180 credits, including a degree project of at least 15 credits, and a minimum of 60 credits in one or more of the following subjects: clinical epidemiology, exercise physiology, testing methods in sports science, kinesiology, biomechanics, coaching and leadership, sports psychology, sports nutrition, sports medicine, training sciences.
AND
English level 2/English course 6 from Swedish Upper Secondary School or equivalent.
Selection rules and procedures
The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
The course is delivered in English. The teaching methods vary and include individual and group exercises. Examples of teaching methods include lectures, literature studies, seminars, workshops, and practical exercises.

1001: Module 1 - Oral and written assignment, 1 Credits
Grade scale: Two-grade scale
Written reflective report and oral presentation of the student´s “coaching style”
1002: Module 2 - Assignment, 1.5 Credits
Grade scale: Two-grade scale
Written reflective report of “Data Driven Decision Making and Coaching” in an individual or team sport (free of choice for the student)
1003: Module 3 - Assignment, 4 Credits
Grade scale: Three-grade scale
The athlete perspective on coaching “the secrets in mastery of coaching” based on interviews with a minimum of two athletes
1004: Module 4 - Assignment, 1 Credits
Grade scale: Two-grade scale
“Produce an Infographic” based on previous modules and with a scientific background
