Aim
The purpose is that the student shall acquire deepened knowledge and experience in the field of nature based solutions and ecological engineering.
The purpose is furthermore for students to gain insight into the scientific methodology within ecological engineering.
Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:
- discuss application and limitations with nature based solutions
- explain how plants and decomposers can be used to clean soil and water
- show insight about potential conflicts of interest between the promotion of different ecosystem services when working with green infrastructure.
Content
Nature based solutions in soil and water remediation. Bioremedition. Green infrastructure.
Entry requirements
Environmental Engineering of at least 15 credits (15 ECTS) at Bachelor's level.
