Tips for a successful fair
To get the most out of your meetings with the participating companies and organizations, we suggest doing a little preparation beforehand. Below are some tips to guide you.
1. Read up on the participating employers
On the page Employers participating in Mötesplats Campus, you can find which companies and organizations participating at Mötesplats Campus, along with links to their websites.
2. Prepare questions for the employers
After reading up on the companies, prepare some relevant questions. You might want to ask about what something on their website or about aspects related to your field of study.
3. Know what type of job or collaboration you're looking for
Be clear about your current stage of studies, mention your program and year. Are you looking for a thesis project, a part-time job, or full-time employment after graduation? Use this as your starting point when speaking with employers.
4. Create or update your LinkedIn profile
Before the event, make sure your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date, or create one if you don't have one yet. There are many online guides on optimizing LinkedIn profiles, for example, the page How LinkedIn can help you as a student.
5. Bring your CV
If you prefer to show a printed CV rather than your LinkedIn profile, that’s fine. Just make sure it’s up-to-date, free of spelling errors, and tailored to the industry you’re targeting. Arbetsförmedlingen offers free CV templates on their page Writing a CV.
6. Be yourself, but dare to stand out
Employers will meet many students during the fair. What should they remember about you? Perhaps you have relevant work experience, a study job, or a hobby that makes you unique. Try to weave this into your conversation.
7. Network and make contacts
Looking for a job is often a long process, but the more contacts you make, the better your chances of landing your dream job. Keep networking!
Be curious, remember that the companies are here to meet you, and most importantly, have fun!
