Welcome to Mid Sweden University, Mohammad!
We welcome yet another new colleague to NDH and Mid Sweden University. Mohammad Sadia is originally from Palestine and is here to work with Circular Biomass 3.0.
Where do you come from?
I come from Palestine, but I have spent the past few years living and working in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I recently completed my PhD in Environmental Analytical Chemistry at the University of Amsterdam, where I worked within the EU-funded PERFORCE3 project. Prior to this, I worked in Sweden on projects related to monitoring environmental contaminants, with a strong focus on Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
What will you be working with here?
I have joined the Department of Natural Sciences, Design and Sustainable Development as a postdoctoral researcher at the Sundsvall campus. My work will focus on the Cirkulär Biomassa 3.0 project, where I will be developing and applying advanced analytical methods (such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, and ICP-MS/AES) to investigate organic and inorganic environmental pollutants in support of sustainable food, feed, and energy production.
What is your impression of our university so far?
Mid Sweden University has made a very positive impression on me. I appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the supportive colleagues, and the university’s strong commitment to sustainability and regional impact. The facilities and research environment are excellent, and I’m looking forward to contributing to ongoing collaborations.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring nature, and meeting new people. Living close to forests and the sea here in Sundsvall is a perfect setting for both relaxation and inspiration.
