Vision and goals
Mid Sweden University's vision points out the direction for our development until 2045. Based on our mission and geographical anchoring, it is based on the conviction that knowledge is developed in the meeting between regional perspectives and a global world.
Our vision
Global horizon – Regional heart – Endless curiosity
Mid Sweden University shall be an open, close and inclusive university that combines high academic quality with strong relationships and the ability to translate knowledge and ideas into action. With academic freedom, trust and curiosity as a foundation, we must dare to think in new ways and go our own way. Through research, education and collaboration, we want to contribute to knowledge development and a sustainable society, regionally as well as globally.
Our vision is our shared vision of the future we want to create. It helps us to look up, choose a direction and make wise decisions even when conditions change.

From vision to action
The vision points out the long-term direction towards 2045. The four target areas and the eight four-year goals up to 2030 will help the University to translate the vision into concrete operational development.
The goals must be concretised in the University's operational plans and followed up within the regular planning cycle. This creates the conditions for monitoring developments and adapting work when new opportunities and challenges arise.
