Lecture on mathematical modelling of infectious disease outbreaks
Professor Tom Britton from Stockholm University, visits Mid Sweden University to give an introduction to mathematical modelling of infectious disease outbreaks and presents two research results from the pandemic. The lecture is intended for a broad audience.
Date and time: Tuesday 8 September, 10:15–11:15
Location: Campus Sundsvall, Lecture hall M108 and online
Tom Britton is a professor of mathematical statistics at Stockholm University. His research focuses on mathematical models to understand and predict how infectious diseases spread.
In his talk, "Mathematical modelling of infectious disease outbreaks: introduction and two snapshots", he will provide an introduction to the field and present two research results that he was involved in during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The talk will be given in English and requires only basic mathematical knowledge. It is intended for a broad audience, including students.
