Water in Östersund safe to drink again
The municipality of Östersund has announced that the water can now be used as normal. Two rounds of testing have been carried out, and the results show that E. coli is no longer present in the drinking water.
Update September 7
Östersund Municipality has announced that the boil water advisory will remain in place until Wednesday, 9 September.
After Wednesday, the municipality will issue a further update to confirm whether residents can stop boiling their water or if the advisory needs to remain in effect.

Östersund Municipality has announced that all tap water intended for drinking or food preparation must be boiled before use.
Tests have shown that the water may contain E. coli bacteria.
This affects large parts of Östersund, Lugnvik, Frösön, Odensala, Fannbyn, Svedje and Orrviken. Torvalla and Brunflo are not affected.
