Pär Olausson

Dekan|Dean of Faculty

Background

I am a political scientist with a PhD from Åbo akademi University in Finland. My doctoral thesis (2008) was a global study of the factors that determine island autonomy. After that I have been working with political entrepreneurship, regional autonomy and network governance for floods and high flows in the rivers in northern Sweden.

I was the director of studies and head of the division of political science 2006-2011 and for the division of law 2008-2010. Since 2011 I am the head of the department of social sciences that today embrace the disciplines of criminology, gender studies, political science, and sociology.

Regional autonomy, political entrepreneurship and network governance.

Teaching and tutoring

I have taught political science at Mid Sweden University and Åbo akademi University and I have been the programme coordinator for Master In behavioral- and social sciences. I have also a Master of Education for the Upper Secondary School.
